Foxen Winery “Shack” Tasting Room

Foxen Winery is the first place I fell in love with Central Coast wine.

Foxen is located in between Los Olivios and Santa Maria on Foxen Canyon Road.  There are 2 facilities within minutes of each other: the winery is at 7600 Foxen Canyon Road and the “shack” tasting room is at 7200 Foxen Canyon Road.  The shack is my favorite of the 2.

At first glance, the shack doesn’t look like much, just a rustic and quaint barn-like building, but don’t let the minimalist exterior fool you, inside it’s full of character with a breath taking view.  The shack walls are lined with wine and nautical paraphernalia, so as you’re tasting their current release, you can entertain yourself with the humorous wall decor or relax in the sun outside overlooking their barrel & bottling facility.  The shack is literally on the side of the road, so if you don’t pay attention, you might just miss this gem!
