When summer heat kicks in, I yearn for a nice cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Finding that right bottle pleasing to your palate is not an easy task, a lot of tasting required, so you drink, taste, try to figure out if you like it or not, and at the end of it all, hope you can remember the name of the wine.
So on a hot summer day, we decided to do a Sauvignon Blanc tasting! The theme of this tasting was California Sauvignon Blanc under $20 – all tastings should have a theme! We picked a wide range of wines from different regions. We had a few bottles that were sweet, some that were dry, some that were earthy minerals, and some that were citrus fruity.
When you do tastings like this, you really get to narrow down which characteristics you like about the wine. At the end of the tasting, the group of 6 participating found one they liked more than the other.
Here’s our line up: (from sweet to dry)
